In the period from July 26 to August 1, 2021, during the Youth Workers’ study visit, a six-day training was held in Vranje (Serbia) for youth workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Serbia, and Albania.
The training was attended by a total of 40 youth workers from these countries. The content of the training was the implementation of the Manual for social and financial education of teenagers which Skola Dokoran developed based on the results of research conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania on the current situation, strengths, and gaps in knowledge and skills in the social and financial education of children and youth, especially Roma.
Through interactive work, during the training, participants had the opportunity to practice and acquire skills of resistance to prejudices and stereotypes, then skills of financial literacy, as well as to acquire new and improve existing social skills. In addition to the above skills, the participants sought to encourage an entrepreneurial approach, but also to develop the necessary fundraising skills.
In addition, participants from the 4 mentioned countries had the opportunity to get to know the specifics of different cultures, traditions, and needs. They developed a common channel of communication for future peer support.
