The programme dedicated to improving education of Roma in south Serbia was implemented in six municipalities: Bujanovac, Vranje, Presevo, Vladicin Han, Vlasotince and Surdulica. The implementation was carried out in two stages, within a four-year period (2005-2009). It provided easier access for Roma to all levels of education and  technical support to them during education. The programme was also successful in strengthening local Roma organisations to have a more active role in improving education for Roma in their communities.

For this programme, CYSO was awarded with the international ERSTE Foundation Award for one of the best social inclusion programmes in southeast Europe in 2009.

The programme was funded by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
